Thank you for considering adoption from the Central California Mermaid Avian Rescue Center! Providing a loving, lifelong home to one of our rescued birds is a deeply rewarding experience, and we’re here to support you every step of the way.
Because many of our birds have unique needs, prior experience with the species you’re interested in is required. We believe that matching birds with informed, prepared adopters is key to successful, lifelong placements.
From your initial inquiry and beyond, we’ll provide ongoing support, resources, and guidance to help you and your new feathered friend thrive together. Should life circumstances ever change, and you’re no longer able to care for your adopted bird, we ask that they be returned to us—no questions asked. Once a Mermaid Bird, always a Mermaid Bird.
The Adoption Process:
- Submit an Adoption Inquiry
- Phone Screening Interview – We’ll discuss your experience, lifestyle, and the bird’s needs.
- Home Visit – To ensure a safe and enriching environment for your potential new companion.
- Meet & Greet – Spend time getting to know your bird and making sure it’s the right fit.
