As President of the Board, Gary brings decades of high-level experience to the sanctuary. With over 35 years of leadership in the pharmaceutical industry, including his current role as Director of Operations for one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical corporations, Gary ensures that the Center’s strategic vision aligns seamlessly with its mission. His background in leading cross-functional teams, streamlining operations, and driving excellence across complex systems has proven invaluable in establishing a strong organizational foundation.
But this sanctuary is far more than a side project—it’s a shared passion. Alongside his wife, Joi, Gary is deeply involved in the day-to-day operations, maintaining the sanctuary’s facilities and ensuring everything runs safely and smoothly. He personally designed, built, and maintains the state-of-the-art aviary, as well as the specialized transport vehiclesused for rescue missions.
Gary’s presence ensures the Center not only runs efficiently, but that it grows with intention, compassion, and a clear commitment to the well-being of every bird in their care.

When Stacy isn’t championing others through her advocacy and leadership, she’s a full-time entrepreneur. She owns and operates a popular gelato shop, bringing sweet joy to her community, and serves as the co-founder of a major consulting firm, helping businesses grow with purpose. Above all, Stacy is a proud mom to three amazing kids and four lovable dogs, balancing it all with passion, purpose, and a whole lot of heart.

Known for her warm spirit, creative energy, and deep belief in holistic well-being, Elisha brings compassion and joy into everything she does. Whether she’s helping with a rescue, supporting an event, or offering a listening ear, her presence reminds others to lead with love, stay curious, and protect the beauty in all living things. She’s proud to be part of a team that dares to imagine a more magical and caring world.When Elisha isn’t helping others heal, she remains deeply connected to her community. She works full-time supporting Veterans and service members on their journey to wellness, and brings her entrepreneurial spirit to life as an accomplished editor for several published authors. She is also the proud mom of two incredible daughters, who inspire her daily to lead with strength, compassion, and authenticity.
In her role as a board member, Deenen helps guide the organization’s strategic direction, ensuring strong governance, transparency, and sustainability. She applies her skills and experience to strengthen the Center’s capacity to serve the avian community, combining oversight with active advocacy for bird welfare. Deenen is also the proud mother of two phenomenal adult children, is also the proud mother of, whose love and support fuel her passion for community service and animal welfare.
