Our 20x20 Outdoor Aviary – A Paradise for Peacocks and Friends
The heart of the sanctuary is our 20x20 outdoor aviary—a true paradise for our peacocks, who share the space with ducks, geese, pheasants, and a flock of elegant fantail pigeons. At its center is a 3-foot pond with running, filtered water, creating a tranquil oasis for both the birds and our visitors to enjoy.
The aviary is fully equipped with electricity, misters in the summer to keep everyone cool, and heaters in the winterto ensure a safe, comfortable environment year-round. Multiple perches, shady retreats, and even a live lemon tree growing inside provide natural enrichment and plenty of places for the flock to explore and relax.
Seven of our nine peacocks have lived here since they were just two months old, growing up together in harmony. While our birds enjoy the freedom of flock life, we take steps to prevent nesting by carefully removing and disposing of eggs—ensuring the focus remains on rescue and care.
Cleanliness and safety are our top priorities. The aviary is deep cleaned and pressure washed three times a month, with daily care to remove waste and feathers. Built from 4-inch medical-grade stainless steel and protected with heavy-duty flight netting and plexiglass, the aviary offers the highest standard of safety while allowing sunlight, fresh air, and comfort.
